Attitudes of researchers about discontinuation of psychopharmacological treatment

Abstract

Via a Web-based survey of researchers this paper provides an overview of the scientific community’s attitude regarding the need for psychiatric drugs to be available in doses that allow safe and effective discontinuation processes. The authors suggest that technologies must be developed that allow prescribers and users to have access to psychiatric drugs in doses that guarantee their discontinuation with a minimum of withdrawal symptoms.
